Possible Causes
Failed dryer heating element, Open thermal cut-out (TCO) or thermostat, Blocked condenser or air duct, Faulty dryer temperature sensor (NTC)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before working on the dryer section.
- Clean lint and condenser: Remove and clean the lint filter. If your Grundig combo has a user-accessible condenser, remove it and rinse thoroughly to clear lint and scale. Ensure all air passages are clear.
- Access dryer heater: Depending on model, the dryer heater is usually located at the rear or on the side of the drum housing. Remove the top and/or rear panel to access.
- Check thermostats and TCO: Locate the thermal cut-outs and thermostats on the heater housing. Test for continuity with a multimeter. Replace any open devices with the correct Grundig parts.
- Test dryer element: Measure resistance across the dryer heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Inspect NTC sensor: Check the dryer temperature sensor for secure mounting and correct resistance at room temperature. Replace if readings are out of specification.
