Possible Causes
Blocked lint filter, Clogged condenser unit, Obstructed air duct or fan, Faulty dryer fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool fully before inspection.
- Clean user filters: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter. If your Grundig model has a removable condenser, take it out and rinse under running water until clear.
- Inspect air paths: Remove the top and rear panels to access the dryer air ducts. Check for lint build-up, fabric pieces, or other obstructions and clean them out.
- Check fan operation: Locate the dryer fan (blower) motor. Spin the fan wheel by hand to ensure it turns freely. Run a short drying cycle and listen for the fan; if it does not run, test the motor for continuity and supply voltage.
- Replace fan motor if faulty: If the fan motor is open circuit or seized, replace it with the correct Grundig fan assembly.
- Reset thermostats (if manual reset type): Some overheat thermostats have a manual reset button. If present, press to reset after cleaning and cooling, then test operation.
