Possible Causes
Leak from door seal, Leak from tub-to-pump hose, Loose hose clamp, Cracked sump or tub, Activated float switch in base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply. Be prepared for water spillage when tilting the unit.
- Check base tray: Carefully pull the machine forward and slightly tilt it backward to see if water drains from the base. If water flows out and E13 clears temporarily, a leak is present.
- Inspect hoses and clamps: Remove the front lower panel or rear panel to inspect the tub-to-pump hose, drain pump, and connections. Look for drips, mineral trails, or dampness.
- Examine door seal: Check the rubber door gasket for tears, holes, or deformation. Replace if damaged.
- Check detergent drawer area: Inspect the dispenser drawer and housing for leaks caused by over-foaming or blockages.
- Repair leak source: Tighten or replace hose clamps, replace cracked hoses or sump, and replace a damaged door seal with a Grundig-compatible gasket. Dry the base tray thoroughly and reset the float switch before testing.
