Possible Causes
Loose or damaged tachometer sensor on motor, Broken tacho wiring, Demagnetized tacho magnet, Faulty motor control circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the motor.
- Access motor and tacho: Remove the rear panel. Locate the motor and the tachometer sensor at the rear of the motor shaft.
- Check sensor mounting: Ensure the tacho sensor is firmly attached and correctly aligned with the magnet on the motor shaft.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the tacho wires to the main PCB. Look for breaks, chafing, or loose connectors. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- Test tacho coil: Use a multimeter to measure resistance of the tacho coil. An open circuit indicates a failed sensor.
- Replace tacho or motor: If the tacho is defective and not separately replaceable on your Grundig motor, the complete motor assembly may need replacement.
