Possible Causes
Partially blocked drain pump, Partially clogged drain hose or standpipe, Foreign object intermittently jamming pump impeller, Siphoning due to incorrect drain hose installation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Expect water when opening the pump filter.
- Clean pump filter thoroughly: Open the lower service flap, remove the pump filter, and clean out all debris. Check deep inside the pump housing for small objects.
- Check drain hose routing: Ensure the drain hose is installed at the correct height and not inserted too far into the standpipe, which can cause siphoning.
- Flush hose and standpipe: Detach the drain hose and flush it with water. Check the household standpipe or sink trap for blockages.
- Test drain performance: Run a drain-only program with the hose discharging into a bucket. If flow is weak despite a clean filter, the pump may be worn and require replacement.
