How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before rotating the drum or accessing the motor.
- Check drum for obstructions: Rotate the drum by hand. If it is very stiff or grinding, inspect the gap between drum and door seal for trapped items (e.g., bra wires).
- Inspect from heater or sump opening: Remove the heater or sump hose to look for objects lodged between inner drum and outer tub.
- Check bearings: Listen for loud rumbling when spinning the drum by hand. Severe bearing failure can overload the motor.
- Motor check: Remove the belt and see if the motor shaft spins freely. If seized, replace the motor.
- PCB diagnosis: If mechanics are free but E21 persists, the motor control triac or driver on the PCB may be faulty and require professional repair.
