Washer-dryer makes very loud rumbling or grinding noise during spin.

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not continue to use the machine with severe bearing noise as further damage may occur.

• Check drum play: With the door open, lift the inner drum up and down. Excessive movement and roughness indicate bearing wear.
• Inspect pulley: Remove the rear panel and check that the drum pulley bolt is tight and the pulley is not cracked.
• Assess repair viability: On many Grundig washer-dryer combos, bearing replacement requires splitting the tub and may not be economical if the tub is sealed.
• Replace bearing set or tub: If the tub is serviceable, replace the bearings and seal using a compatible kit. Otherwise, the complete tub assembly may need replacement by a professional.
