Possible Causes
Defective door lock assembly, Broken or loose wiring harness to door lock, Faulty main control module (PCB), Misaligned door latch hook
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer-dryer combo from the mains before removing any panels. Do not bypass the door lock for testing with the unit powered.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and try starting a short wash program. Sometimes the control board will clear a transient E01 after a hard reset.
- Step 2 – Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and the latch hook engages firmly. Inspect the plastic latch hook on the door for cracks or deformation. If loose or damaged, the lock will not engage.
- Step 3 – Inspect door lock assembly: Remove the front door seal clamp and gently pull back the bellows to access the door lock on the cabinet. Check the connector for corrosion or burnt pins. Reseat the plug firmly. If the lock rattles, smells burnt, or shows heat damage, it should be replaced.
- Step 4 – Wiring harness check: Trace the harness from the door lock to the main PCB (usually at the rear or side). Look for pinched, broken, or rubbed-through wires, especially around the front panel edge. Repair any damaged wiring with proper crimp connectors and insulation.
- Step 5 – Replace door lock: If E01 persists and wiring is sound, replace the door lock assembly with a compatible Hansa part. Transfer any mounting screws and reconnect the harness exactly as original.
- Step 6 – Control board diagnosis: If a new lock does not clear E01, the main control module may have a failed relay or triac for the lock circuit. At this point, professional diagnosis or PCB replacement is recommended.
