Possible Causes
Blocked pressure switch hose or air chamber, Defective water level pressure switch, Stuck water inlet valve, Faulty main control module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and close water taps. If the drum is overfilled, manually bail out water before tilting or moving the unit.
- Step 1 – Inspect pressure hose: Remove the top cover. Locate the pressure switch and its thin hose leading to the tub or side air chamber. Remove the hose at both ends and blow through it to clear soap residue or lint. Clean the air chamber connection on the tub if clogged.
- Step 2 – Check pressure switch: With the hose reconnected, gently blow into the switch while listening for distinct clicks. If no clicks or if it rattles internally, replace the pressure switch with a Hansa-compatible part.
- Step 3 – Examine inlet valve: Ensure the inlet valve fully closes when power is off. If water continues to trickle into the drum with the machine unplugged, the valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced.
- Step 4 – Wiring inspection: Check the wiring harness between the pressure switch and main PCB for loose connectors or damaged insulation.
- Step 5 – Test cycle: Reassemble, restore power and water, and run a short cycle. If E04 persists after replacing the pressure switch and verifying the valve, the control board may be misreading the level signal and should be evaluated by a technician.
