Possible Causes
Failed dryer heating element, Tripped or faulty thermal fuse/thermostat, Blocked condenser or air duct, Faulty dryer temperature sensor (NTC)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Internal dryer components can remain hot after use; allow time to cool.
- Step 1 – Clean condenser and air paths: If your Hansa combo has a user-accessible condenser, remove and rinse it thoroughly under running water. Clean lint from the front air intake and outlet grilles. Check internal ducts (accessible from rear or top) for lint buildup restricting airflow.
- Step 2 – Access dryer heater: Remove the top and rear panels to locate the dryer heater assembly, usually mounted in a metal duct. Inspect for burnt spots, broken coils, or disconnected wires.
- Step 3 – Check thermal fuses/thermostats: Identify the thermal cut-out(s) on the heater housing. Test continuity with a multimeter. Any open (no continuity) safety thermostat or fuse must be replaced with the exact Hansa-rated part.
- Step 4 – Measure dryer heater resistance: Disconnect heater terminals and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed heater element.
- Step 5 – Dryer NTC sensor: Locate the dryer temperature sensor on the air duct. Test its resistance at room temperature and compare to service data. Replace if open, shorted, or out of range.
- Step 6 – Reassemble and test: After replacing faulty components and cleaning airflow paths, reassemble panels and run a drying cycle. If E06 persists with all hardware verified, the control board's dryer heater relay or triac may be defective and require professional service.
