Possible Causes
Door not properly closed, Defective door lock assembly, Child lock (control lock) engaged, Faulty user interface PCB or wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the appliance is unplugged before removing any control panels.
- Step 1 – Check for child lock: Many Hansa models use a key symbol to indicate control lock. Press and hold the designated button combination (refer to user manual, often two buttons held for 3–5 seconds) to disable the lock and see if E10 clears.
- Step 2 – Verify door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Check that the latch hook aligns correctly with the cabinet lock. Adjust the door hinge screws if the door is sagging.
- Step 3 – Inspect door lock: Access the door lock as described for E01. Check for mechanical damage and secure wiring. Replace the lock if it fails to click when the door is closed or shows signs of overheating.
- Step 4 – User interface and harness: Remove the control panel fascia and inspect the user interface PCB and ribbon cable to the main board. Reseat connectors and look for corrosion or cracked solder joints.
- Step 5 – Test operation: Reassemble and power on. If E10 persists despite a new door lock and good wiring, the user interface or main PCB may be faulty and require replacement.
