Possible Causes
Blocked condenser water nozzle, Clogged internal recirculation pump or hose, Faulty condenser water valve, Scale buildup in condenser channel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and close water taps.
- Step 1 – Clean condenser area: Remove the condenser (if accessible) and rinse thoroughly. Use a soft brush to remove lint and scale from the channels.
- Step 2 – Check condenser water feed: Locate the small water nozzle or channel that sprays water over the condenser during drying. Clean it with a small brush or toothpick to remove limescale.
- Step 3 – Inspect internal hoses: Access the internal hoses that carry water to and from the condenser. Look for kinks, blockages, or leaks. Flush them with water if necessary.
- Step 4 – Recirculation pump/valve: Some Hansa combos use a small pump or valve to manage condenser water. Test for operation (listen for running during drying) and check electrical continuity. Replace if non-functional.
- Step 5 – Descale system: Run a maintenance cycle with a descaling agent suitable for washer-dryers to reduce internal scale buildup.
- Step 6 – If E14 persists: After cleaning and replacing faulty components, if E14 still appears, the control board may not be correctly driving the condenser water circuit and should be checked by a technician.
