Possible Causes
Torn or worn door gasket (bellow), Foreign object trapped between door seal and drum, Loose door gasket retaining clamp, Excessive foaming from wrong detergent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply before inspecting for leaks.
- Step 1 – Inspect door gasket: Open the door and carefully examine the rubber gasket all around, especially the bottom. Look for tears, holes, or areas where the gasket has pulled away from the drum or cabinet.
- Step 2 – Remove foreign objects: Check the fold of the gasket for coins, bra wires, or other sharp objects. Remove any debris and wipe the gasket clean with a damp cloth.
- Step 3 – Check clamps: Gently pull the gasket edge to see if the outer or inner retaining ring has come loose. If so, refit the ring evenly around the circumference, ensuring the gasket lip is fully seated.
- Step 4 – Detergent usage: If foam is visible at the door, switch to high-efficiency (HE) detergent and reduce dosage. Run a rinse-only cycle to clear excess suds.
- Step 5 – Replace gasket if damaged: If you find splits or permanent deformation, remove the front retaining ring, peel off the old gasket, and install a new Hansa-compatible door bellow. Align the drain holes at the bottom and secure both inner and outer clamps firmly.
