Possible Causes

Frequent low-temperature washes, Excess detergent use, Standing water in door gasket folds, Clogged drain and vent paths

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Use only cleaning agents approved for washing machines. Ventilate the room.

  • Step 1 – Clean door gasket: Wipe the gasket folds with a cloth soaked in a mild bleach solution or dedicated washer cleaner. Remove visible mold and residue.
  • Step 2 – Run maintenance wash: Run an empty 90°C cycle with a washer cleaner or white vinegar (check Hansa recommendations) to kill bacteria and dissolve residues.
  • Step 3 – Clean detergent drawer: Remove the drawer and scrub away mold and detergent buildup. Clean the housing as well.
  • Step 4 – Improve ventilation: After each use, leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open to allow drying and prevent mold growth.
