Child lock enabled, Faulty Start/Pause button, Defective user interface PCB, Loose ribbon cable to main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel.

  • Step 1 – Check for child lock: Look for a key or lock symbol on the display. Disable the lock by holding the indicated button combination for several seconds (see Hansa manual).
  • Step 2 – Reset appliance: Turn the selector to Off, unplug for 5 minutes, then reconnect and try again.
  • Step 3 – Inspect control panel: Remove the front fascia and check the Start/Pause button mechanism for sticking or physical damage. Clean any detergent residue.
  • Step 4 – Check ribbon cable: Ensure the ribbon cable between the user interface and main PCB is fully seated and undamaged.
  • Step 5 – Replace user interface: If the button does not register presses and wiring is good, replace the user interface PCB with a Hansa-compatible part.
