Step-by-step checks:

• 1. Clean lint and condenser: Remove and clean the condenser unit (if user-removable) under running water. Clean the lint filter thoroughly. Blocked airflow can cause overheating and E08.
• 2. Inspect dryer air paths: Remove the rear or top panel (depending on model) and check the air ducts for lint build-up. Clean carefully with a soft brush and vacuum.
• 3. Test dryer heater: Locate the dryer heating element assembly. Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the element. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
• 4. Check thermostats and thermal fuse: On or near the heater housing, locate the thermal cut-out(s) and thermostats. Test for continuity. Any open safety device must be replaced, and the cause of overheating (blocked airflow) must be corrected.
• 5. Verify dryer fan operation: During a drying cycle, the internal fan should run. If you suspect it is not, unplug the machine, access the dryer fan motor, and check for obstructions or seized bearings. Replace the fan motor if it does not run when powered.
• 6. Control board: If all heating components test good, the dryer relay or control circuit on the PCB may be defective and require professional replacement.
