Possible Causes
Leak from door seal, Leak from hoses or pump, Cracked tub or sump hose, Activated float switch in base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off the water supply immediately to prevent further leakage.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Check for visible leaks: Look around the front door seal, detergent drawer, and rear hoses for dripping water.
- 2. Inspect base tray: Carefully tilt the machine slightly backward (with help) and look underneath. Many models have a leak tray with a float switch. If water is present, soak it up with towels or a sponge.
- 3. Identify leak source: Remove the front lower panel or rear cover. Run a short fill cycle while observing (use a torch). Common leak points are the door gasket, drain pump, sump hose, and inlet hose connections.
- 4. Tighten or replace components: Tighten hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, and replace a torn door seal. If the pump housing is cracked or leaking, replace the drain pump assembly.
- 5. Reset anti-flood: Once the leak is fixed and the base tray is dry, the float switch will reset and E13 should clear on the next cycle.
