Washer-dryer shows E16; water remains in drum and door may stay locked

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before adjusting hoses or opening filters.

Step-by-step checks:

• 1. Verify drain hose height: Ensure the drain hose is installed at the correct height (usually 65–100 cm above floor). If it is too low, water can siphon out and confuse the level system.
• 2. Check standpipe/trap: Remove the hose from the standpipe or sink trap and check for blockages. Clean the trap if necessary.
• 3. Clean pump filter: Open the lower flap, drain residual water, and clean the pump filter as described for E03.
• 4. Secure hose routing: Make sure the hose is not kinked or crushed behind the machine and is firmly secured to prevent movement during spin.
