Washer-dryer makes loud banging or knocking noises during spin

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before internal inspection. Do not continue to run the machine with severe banging as it can cause further damage.

• 1. Check installation: Ensure the washer-dryer is level and all shipping bolts were removed at installation. Shipping bolts left in place cause severe vibration.
• 2. Inspect dampers: Remove the rear or front lower panel and locate the suspension dampers. If they are oily, loose, or offer little resistance when moved by hand, replace them as a set.
• 3. Check counterweights: Inspect the concrete weights on the tub for cracks or loose bolts. Tighten bolts or replace broken weights.
• 4. Drum spider (advanced): If the drum can be rocked up and down relative to the tub or makes scraping noises, the internal drum spider may be cracked. This usually requires drum/tub replacement by a technician.
