Possible Causes
Failed motor tachometer sensor, Loose tach wiring connector, Damaged motor harness, Faulty motor control circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the motor or control board.
- Access motor: Remove the rear panel to expose the drive motor and belt.
- Inspect harness: Check the multi-pin connector at the motor for a secure fit. Look for damaged or pinched wires leading to the main control board.
- Check tach sensor: Many Insignia motors have an integrated tach sensor. Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the tach terminals (refer to service data). An open circuit indicates a failed sensor/motor.
- Inspect main board: If the motor and tach test good, inspect the main control board for burned components in the motor drive section. Replace the board if defective.
- Test spin: After repairs, run a spin-only cycle to verify smooth acceleration and that E13 does not reappear.
