Possible Causes
Partially clogged drain pump filter, Obstruction in tub-to-pump hose, Slow household drain standpipe, Weak drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and prepare for water spillage when opening the pump filter.
- Clean pump filter thoroughly: Open the pump filter access, drain water into a pan, and remove all lint, hair, and debris from the filter and pump cavity.
- Inspect tub-to-pump hose: From the bottom or front, remove the large hose between the tub and pump. Check for socks, coins, or buildup inside. Clean and reinstall with clamps tight.
- Check household drain: Ensure the standpipe or sink drain is not restricted. A slow drain can cause water to back up and slow the washer's draining.
- Evaluate pump performance: Run a drain-only cycle and observe water flow at the drain hose. Weak or intermittent flow may indicate a failing pump that should be replaced.
