Possible Causes
Load distributed unevenly in drum, Worn suspension rods or dampers, Shipping bolts left in place, Unit not leveled on floor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands clear of the drum while it is moving. Unplug the unit before adjusting internal components.
- Redistribute load: Open the door once the machine unlocks. Separate heavy items (like towels or blankets) and spread them evenly around the drum. Remove some items if the drum is overfilled.
- Level the appliance: Use a bubble level on the top of the unit. Adjust the front and rear leveling feet until the washer-dryer is stable and does not rock.
- Check for shipping bolts: If the unit is relatively new, remove the rear panel and confirm that all shipping bolts and transit brackets have been removed from the drum assembly.
- Inspect suspension: From the bottom or rear (depending on model), inspect the suspension rods or shock absorbers for oil leakage, broken mounts, or excessive play. Replace worn suspension components to restore proper balance control.
- Run test spin: Run an empty or small-load spin cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
