Possible Causes
Broken or slipped drive belt, Worn motor pulley, Drum pulley misaligned, Excessive drum resistance from worn bearings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the rear panel.
- Access belt: Remove the rear panel to expose the drive belt and pulleys.
- Inspect belt: If the belt is broken, frayed, or off the pulleys, replace it with the correct Insignia belt.
- Check pulleys: Ensure the motor and drum pulleys are aligned and secure. Tighten any loose mounting bolts.
- Spin drum by hand: Confirm the drum turns freely. If it is stiff or noisy, address bearing issues before installing a new belt.
- Install new belt: Fit the belt around the motor pulley first, then stretch it onto the drum pulley while rotating the drum by hand.
