Possible Causes
Closed water supply valves, clogged inlet screens, failed water inlet valve coil, low household water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before disconnecting hoses.
- Verify water supply: Ensure both hot and cold faucets are fully open. Check that other fixtures in the home have normal pressure.
- Inspect inlet screens: Turn off water, disconnect the hoses at the back of the unit, and inspect the small metal screens inside the valve inlets. Clean sediment with a soft brush; do not damage the screens.
- Check hoses: Confirm hoses are not kinked or crushed behind the unit.
- Test fill: Reconnect hoses, restore water and power, and start a cycle. Listen for the valve hum and watch for water entering.
- Replace inlet valve: If the valve does not open (no water flow) and coils test open with a meter, replace the water inlet valve assembly with the correct JennAir part.
When to call a technician: If the valve is good but the control is not sending power, a technician should test the control board output.
