Possible Causes
Loose wiring harness between user interface and main control, failed user interface board, failed main control board, electrical noise or surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing control panels.
- Access console: Remove screws securing the control console or front panel to reach the user interface (UI) board and wiring.
- Reseat connectors: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable and harnesses between the UI and main control board, ensuring they are fully seated and not pinched.
- Inspect for damage: Look for burnt spots, corrosion, or moisture on both boards and connectors.
- Power reset: Reassemble, restore power, and attempt to run a short cycle. Sometimes reseating and resetting clears intermittent F11 errors.
- Replace faulty board: If F11 persists, replace the UI board first (most common), then the main control board if needed, using JennAir-approved parts.
When to call a technician: Board-level diagnostics and replacement are best handled by a professional if you are not experienced with electronics.
