Possible Causes
Child lock enabled, faulty Start button on user interface, door not detected as closed, control board not receiving start command
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.
- Check display for lock icons: If a control lock or child lock symbol is lit, follow the user manual to disable it (usually by holding a specific button for several seconds).
- Verify door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and latched. Listen for the door lock click when Start is pressed.
- Test other buttons: If some buttons do not respond or the panel is erratic, the user interface board or touchpad may be failing.
- Inspect UI connections: Remove the console and reseat the ribbon cable and connectors between the UI and main control.
When to call a technician: If the Start function still does not work, the UI or main control board may need replacement by a technician.
