Washer-dryer combo displays dE2; door lock mechanism is stuck in the locked position or fails to unlock at end of cycle.

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not pry the door open with tools that can damage the glass or gasket.

• 1. Attempt a soft reset:
  • Unplug the unit for 5–10 minutes to allow the lock to cool and reset.
  • Plug back in and try to start and then cancel a cycle to trigger unlock.
• 2. Use emergency door release (if equipped):
  • Open the lower front access panel.
  • Look for a manual release tab or pull cord near the door lock area.
  • Gently pull to mechanically release the lock.
• 3. Inspect/replace door lock assembly:
  • With the unit unplugged, remove the door gasket clamp and access the lock.
  • Check for broken plastic pieces or signs of overheating.
  • Inspect wiring harness for burns or loose connectors.
  • Replace the LG door lock assembly if it is jammed or electrically open.
• 4. Control board check:
  • If a new lock does not resolve the issue, the main PCB may not be sending proper voltage to the lock.
  • Board diagnosis and replacement are best handled by a professional.
