Washer-dryer combo will not spin properly; drum repeatedly tries to balance load, then stops with UE displayed.

Safety first: Do not bypass door locks or reach into a spinning drum. Unplug the unit before internal inspection.

• 1. Correct the load:
  • Open the door when safe and redistribute clothes evenly around the drum.
  • Remove heavy items if the drum is overfilled; LG combos work best at about 2/3 full.
  • Mix large and small items to improve balance.
  • Restart the spin cycle.
• 2. Check leveling:
  • Ensure the washer-dryer is on a solid, level floor.
  • Adjust the front leveling feet so the unit does not rock; lock the jam nuts.
• 3. Inspect suspension and drum (advanced):
  • Unplug the unit and remove the top cover.
  • Press down on the drum; it should move smoothly and return without excessive bounce.
  • If the drum bounces or clunks, the LG shock absorbers or suspension rods may be worn and need replacement.
  • Spin the drum by hand; grinding or rumbling indicates worn drum bearings.
• 4. Check motor feedback (hall sensor):
  • If UE occurs even with small, balanced loads, the motor hall sensor may not be reading speed correctly.
  • Access the rear of the drum and inspect the motor and sensor wiring harness for damage.
  • Replace the LG hall sensor if wiring is intact but UE persists with proper loads.
• Contact a technician if bearing or suspension replacement is needed; these are labor-intensive repairs.
