How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before working around the door lock area.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and that no clothing is trapped between the door gasket and the door.
- Inspect latch and strike: Examine the metal or plastic door strike for damage or misalignment. Adjust hinges if the door sags.
- Access door lock: Remove the outer retaining band from the door gasket and peel the gasket back near the lock. Unscrew and pull out the Midea door lock assembly.
- Check wiring: Verify the connector is firmly attached and wires are intact.
- Test lock: With a multimeter, check continuity across the lock terminals when energized (advanced users only). If the lock does not engage or read correctly, replace it.
- If lock is good: The main control board may not be sending power to the lock and may require professional diagnosis.
