Possible Causes
Severe blockage in drain pump, Foreign object jammed in pump impeller, Collapsed internal sump hose, Failed drain pump winding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and prepare for water spillage when opening the pump filter.
- Clean pump filter thoroughly: Access the pump filter at the front bottom. Remove all debris and check deep inside the pump cavity for socks, coins, or other items.
- Inspect sump hose: From underneath or via rear access, check the large black hose between the tub and pump for blockages or collapse.
- Check impeller: Try to rotate the pump impeller with your finger. If it is seized or very loose on the shaft, the pump must be replaced.
- Electrical test: Measure resistance across the pump terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed pump motor.
- Replace pump: Install a new Midea drain pump assembly if the original is defective.
