Possible Causes

Blocked inlet filter screens at AquaStop hose, Defective AquaStop inlet valve, Low or no water pressure at supply, Faulty water level pressure sensor or wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the water supply taps and unplug the appliance before disconnecting hoses.

Step-by-step checks:

  • 1. Verify water supply: Ensure the tap feeding the washer-dryer is fully open. Check that household water pressure is adequate by running a nearby tap.
  • 2. Clean inlet filters: Turn off the tap, unscrew the AquaStop or standard inlet hose from the back of the machine. Inside the valve connection you will see a small mesh filter. Carefully pull it out with needle-nose pliers and rinse under running water to remove debris. Refit the filter and hose.
  • 3. Check AquaStop hose (if fitted): Neff often uses a Bosch-style AquaStop safety hose. If the AquaStop box on the hose feels unusually heavy with water or shows a red indicator, the internal safety valve may have tripped. In that case, the complete AquaStop hose assembly must be replaced.
  • 4. Test the inlet valve coil: Remove the top cover, locate the inlet valve assembly at the rear. With power disconnected, unplug the connectors and measure coil resistance with a multimeter. An open-circuit coil indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
  • 5. Inspect pressure sensor and hose: A blocked pressure hose or faulty pressure switch can falsely signal that the drum is already full. Locate the small rubber hose from the tub to the pressure sensor. Remove and blow through it to clear blockages. Check the sensor connector for corrosion.
  • 6. Control module: If the valve and pressure system are fine but the valve never receives power during fill, the power module may be defective and should be tested or replaced by a professional.

When to call a technician: If replacing the inlet valve or AquaStop hose is beyond your comfort level, or if E02 persists after basic checks, contact Neff service.
