• 1. Wait for safety delay: Many Neff washer-dryers have a 1–2 minute delay before unlocking. Ensure the cycle is fully finished and wait a few minutes.
• 2. Drain water first: If water remains in the drum, run a drain program or use the emergency drain hose (if fitted) behind the pump filter flap to empty the tub. The door will not unlock if water level is high.
• 3. Use emergency release: Behind the pump filter flap, some models have a manual door release tab or pull cord. Pull gently to mechanically release the lock.
• 4. Inspect the door lock: Once open and unplugged, remove the door seal clamp and access the lock. Check for signs of overheating or cracking. Test continuity of the lock contacts with a multimeter. Replace the lock if faulty.
• 5. Check handle and latch: Ensure the door handle mechanism moves the latch hook fully. A broken handle can prevent the lock from disengaging.
• 6. Wiring and control: If the lock tests good, inspect the harness to the control module. If wiring is intact, the control board may not be sending the unlock signal and may need replacement.
