Possible Causes
Persistent unbalanced load detected by control, Worn shock absorbers causing excessive vibration, Faulty tachometer feedback from motor, Control board spin algorithm fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before tipping or moving it.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Reload the drum: Open the door and redistribute laundry. Avoid single heavy items (e.g., one bath mat). Add a few smaller items to balance the load and restart the spin.
- 2. Check machine leveling: Ensure the washer-dryer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Adjust the front feet and lock them with the jam nuts.
- 3. Inspect shock absorbers: Remove the rear or front panel to view the tub suspension. Press down on the drum; it should move smoothly and stop quickly. If it bounces excessively or you see oil leakage from the dampers, replace the shock absorbers.
- 4. Examine springs and weights: Check the top suspension springs and concrete counterweights for cracks or looseness. Tighten or replace as needed.
- 5. Motor feedback: If mechanical suspension is good, test the motor tachometer as described for E07. A faulty tachometer can cause incorrect spin speed detection.
When to call a technician: If E08 persists after balancing loads and checking suspension, professional diagnosis of the control system is recommended.
