Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the top cover or handling wiring.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Locate the pressure sensor: Remove the top cover. The pressure sensor is a small round or rectangular device with a thin rubber hose attached and a wiring connector.
- 2. Check the hose: Remove the hose from the sensor and blow through it toward the tub. It should be clear. If blocked, remove and rinse it, and clean the tub connection point.
- 3. Inspect the sensor: Check for water inside the sensor or corrosion on the terminals. Replace the sensor if contaminated or damaged.
- 4. Electrical test: Measure resistance or continuity across the sensor terminals while gently blowing into the sensor. You should see changes corresponding to different pressure levels. If not, the sensor is faulty.
- 5. Wiring and control: Inspect the harness from the sensor to the control board. If wiring is intact and a new sensor does not clear E11, the control board may be defective.
When to call a technician: If you are not comfortable testing sensors or suspect a control board fault, contact a Neff service technician.
