How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and close the water supply taps before disconnecting hoses.
Step-by-step checks:
- Verify water supply: Ensure both hot and cold taps feeding the Stoves combo are fully open. Check that household water pressure is normal by opening a nearby tap.
- Clean inlet filters: Turn off taps, unscrew the inlet hoses from the rear of the machine, and remove the small mesh filters from the valve inlets. Rinse under running water and brush away limescale or debris. Refit filters and hoses securely.
- Check hoses for kinks: Make sure the inlet hoses are not kinked or crushed behind the appliance.
- Test fill: Turn water back on, plug in, and run a rinse cycle. If E02 returns, proceed.
- Inspect inlet valve: With power unplugged, remove the top cover. Locate the water inlet valve assembly where the hoses connect. Check for cracks, leaks, or burnt connectors.
- Electrical test (if equipped): Use a multimeter to measure coil resistance on each solenoid. An open circuit or very high resistance indicates a failed valve. Replace with a Stoves-compatible inlet valve assembly.
If the valve and supply are good but the valve never energizes, the main control board or wiring harness may be at fault and should be checked by a professional.
