Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Be aware of sharp edges when removing panels.
Step-by-step checks:
- Check the drive belt: Remove the rear panel and confirm the belt is correctly seated on the motor pulley and drum pulley. If broken or off, refit or replace the belt.
- Inspect motor connections: Ensure the motor plug is fully seated and wiring is not damaged or burnt.
- Check carbon brushes (if fitted): Remove the motor from the machine. Inspect the carbon brushes on each side. If they are worn to less than ~1 cm or uneven, replace both with Stoves-compatible brushes.
- Test motor windings: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the motor terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor.
- Inspect tachometer sensor: On the rear of the motor, check the tachometer coil and magnet. Ensure it is secure and the connector is intact.
Reinstall the motor and belt, then test. If E06 persists and the motor never receives power, the motor triac or inverter section on the main PCB may be faulty and should be serviced by a technician.
