Possible Causes
Shorted drive motor, Shorted triac or power component on main control board, Damaged wiring harness between motor and board, Water ingress on motor or wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and do not reset the breaker repeatedly without finding the cause. Risk of fire or electric shock.
- Step 1 – Visual inspection: Remove the rear panel and inspect the motor and wiring harness for burn marks, melted insulation, or signs of water leakage.
- Step 2 – Check for leaks: Look for traces of water around the motor area, tub seal, and hoses. Repair any leaks before replacing electrical parts.
- Step 3 – Motor test (advanced): Disconnect the motor plug and measure resistance between windings and between each terminal and the motor frame. Any short to ground indicates a bad motor.
- Step 4 – Control board inspection: Remove the top cover and access the main control board. Look for burnt components, especially near the motor triac or power section.
- Step 5 – Replace faulty components: Replace the motor if it is shorted. If the motor is good but the board is visibly damaged or E09 persists, replace the main control board. Due to the risk involved, board-level repairs should be done by a qualified technician.
