Possible Causes
Clogged condenser unit, Blocked air ducts with lint, Faulty condenser temperature sensor, Restricted water spray system for condenser (on water-cooled models)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Some edges inside the condenser compartment can be sharp.
- Step 1 – Clean lint filter: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter before every drying cycle.
- Step 2 – Clean condenser: If your Vedette combo has a removable condenser, open the condenser flap, unlock the unit, and pull it out. Rinse under running water until all lint is removed. Let it drain and reinstall.
- Step 3 – Inspect air ducts: Remove rear/top panels and visually inspect the air channels for heavy lint buildup. Vacuum or brush out debris.
- Step 4 – Check condenser sensor (advanced): Locate the temperature sensor attached to the condenser or duct. Test its resistance with a multimeter and compare to specifications. Replace if out of range.
- Step 5 – Water spray system (if fitted): On water-cooled condenser models, ensure the small hoses and nozzles that spray water over the condenser are not blocked. Clean or replace as needed.
- Step 6 – Re-test drying: Reassemble, plug in, and run a drying cycle. If E12 persists despite a clean system, the control board may be misreading sensor data and should be checked by a technician.
