Possible Causes
Loose harness between user interface board and main control board, Faulty user interface PCB, Faulty main control board, Moisture ingress behind control panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Reconnect and test. Sometimes E14 is cleared by a reset.
- Step 2 – Check for moisture: Inspect the area around the control panel for signs of condensation or detergent spills. Allow the panel to dry completely if damp.
- Step 3 – Access control panel: Remove the top cover, then carefully unclip or unscrew the front control panel. Do not pull hard on the wiring.
- Step 4 – Inspect connectors: Reseat the ribbon cable or wiring harness between the user interface and main board. Look for corrosion or bent pins.
- Step 5 – Replace faulty board: If the display remains dead or erratic, replace the user interface PCB with a Vedette-compatible part. If that does not resolve E14, the main control board may also need replacement, which is best done by a professional.
