Possible Causes
Dirty or oxidized moisture sensor bars, Faulty dryer NTC temperature sensor, Broken wiring to sensors, Faulty main control board sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before cleaning internal sensors.
- Step 1 – Clean moisture sensor bars: Inside the drum, locate the two metal strips (usually near the door opening). Clean them thoroughly with a soft cloth and a bit of vinegar or mild detergent to remove fabric softener residue.
- Step 2 – Avoid dryer sheets: Excessive use of dryer sheets can coat the sensors. Reduce or stop using them and test again.
- Step 3 – Check wiring (advanced): Remove the front panel (if required) to access the sensor wiring. Ensure connectors are secure and wires are intact.
- Step 4 – Test dryer NTC: Locate the dryer temperature sensor in the air duct. Measure its resistance and compare to specifications. Replace if out of range.
- Step 5 – Control board: If sensors and wiring are good but E19 persists, the control board may misinterpret sensor signals and should be evaluated by a technician.
