Possible Causes

Partially blocked drain pump, Obstructed drain hose or standpipe, Faulty drain pump motor, Siphoning due to incorrect drain hose installation

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Expect water spillage when opening the filter.

  • Step 1 – Clean pump filter: Open the lower front flap, place a tray, and unscrew the filter. Remove lint and foreign objects. Check the pump impeller for free movement.
  • Step 2 – Inspect drain hose routing: Ensure the drain hose rises to the recommended height (see manual) before entering the standpipe or sink. A hose that is too low can cause siphoning and E20 errors.
  • Step 3 – Check standpipe/sink: Make sure the household drain is not blocked. A slow sink or standpipe can cause backpressure.
  • Step 4 – Test pump (advanced): With a multimeter, check pump motor resistance. If open or shorted, replace the pump.
  • Step 5 – Replace pump if needed: Access from the bottom or front, disconnect hoses and wiring, and install a new Vedette-compatible drain pump.
