Possible Causes
Blocked lint filter or condenser, Failed or stuck dryer fan, Faulty cycling thermostat, Restricted exhaust/airflow path
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before working on it.
- Step 1 – Clean lint filter and condenser: Remove all lint from the filter and rinse the condenser (if removable) thoroughly.
- Step 2 – Check airflow: Ensure that the rear and sides of the machine have adequate clearance. Inspect internal ducts for lint buildup and clean as needed.
- Step 3 – Verify fan operation: Start a drying cycle and listen for the fan. If silent, inspect and test the fan motor as described for E11.
- Step 4 – Thermostat check (advanced): Locate the dryer thermostats on the heater housing or duct. Test for continuity. Replace any open safety thermostat, but always correct the underlying airflow issue first.
- Step 5 – Re-test: After cleaning and any part replacement, run a short drying cycle and monitor for E22. Persistent overheating should be investigated by a technician.
