Possible Causes
Worn shock absorbers (dampers), Broken or stretched suspension springs, Loose concrete counterweights, Foreign object between drum and tub
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not continue to run the machine if it is violently shaking; damage can worsen.
- Step 1 – Level the machine: Check that all four feet are firmly on the floor. Adjust the feet and use a spirit level to ensure the cabinet is level front-to-back and side-to-side.
- Step 2 – Check load: Avoid single heavy items; redistribute laundry and run spin again.
- Step 3 – Inspect suspension: Remove the rear and/or side panels. Check shock absorbers for oil leakage or looseness. Replace in pairs if worn.
- Step 4 – Check springs and weights: Inspect top suspension springs and concrete weights for cracks or loose bolts. Tighten or replace as needed.
- Step 5 – Foreign objects: If scraping sounds are present, a bra wire or similar object may be trapped between drum and tub. Removal usually requires disassembling the tub and is best done by a technician.
