Washer-dryer produces a loud scraping or metallic noise when the drum turns.

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before inspecting the drum.

• Step 1 – Inspect drum interior: Run your hand carefully around the inside of the drum and along the drum paddles. Look for protruding wires or sharp objects.
• Step 2 – Check drum paddles: Ensure plastic lifters are secure. Replace any cracked or loose lifter with a Vedette-compatible part.
• Step 3 – Locate object: If the noise persists, rotate the drum slowly and listen for the point of contact. Sometimes the object can be seen through the drum holes.
• Step 4 – Removal: Removal often requires taking off the heater or sump hose to access the space between drum and tub. This is a moderate to advanced repair; if unsure, contact a technician.
