Possible Causes

Clogged inlet filter screens at water valve, Defective hot/cold water inlet valve assembly, Low or no household water pressure, Faulty water level (pressure) sensor or wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer and close both water supply valves before working on hoses or valves.

  • 1. Check household water supply: Verify both hot and cold faucets are fully open and that other fixtures in the home have normal pressure. If pressure is low, resolve plumbing issues first.
  • 2. Inspect inlet hoses: Pull the washer forward, close the faucets, and disconnect the hoses from the back of the washer. Check for kinks, internal collapse, or freezing. Straighten or replace hoses if damaged.
  • 3. Clean inlet filters: At the connection ports of the water inlet valve assembly on the washer, remove the small mesh screens with needle-nose pliers. Rinse under running water and brush away sediment. Reinstall carefully without deforming the screens.
  • 4. Test fill function: Reconnect hoses, open faucets, plug in the washer, and run a quick wash or rinse cycle. If E1 clears and water flows strongly, the issue was blockage.
  • 5. Check water level sensor and hose (advanced): With power unplugged, remove the top cover. Locate the water level (pressure) sensor and its thin air hose to the tub. Ensure the hose is not cracked, kinked, or disconnected. Re-seat connections. If the sensor is suspected faulty (no change in water level reading, repeated E1), replacement is recommended.
  • 6. Replace inlet valve if needed: If voltage is present at the valve coils during fill (technician test) but no water enters, replace the water inlet valve assembly.
