Possible Causes
Faulty motor hall (tacho) sensor, Loose motor sensor connector, Damaged motor wiring harness, Defective inverter or main control board speed circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before accessing the motor or control boards.
- 1. Check for overload or imbalance: Remove some items and redistribute the load. Restart a spin cycle to see if E21 clears.
- 2. Access motor: Remove the rear panel. Locate the BLDC motor at the back of the tub.
- 3. Inspect hall sensor connector: On the motor body, find the smaller connector for the hall (tachometer) sensor. Ensure it is firmly connected and free of corrosion or damage.
- 4. Check wiring harness: Follow the harness from the motor to the inverter board. Look for chafed insulation or broken wires. Repair or replace as needed.
- 5. Professional testing: If connections are good, the hall sensor or inverter may be faulty. Testing requires a multimeter and knowledge of BLDC systems. Replace the motor hall sensor or inverter board as diagnosed.
