Possible Causes
Drain hose inserted too far into standpipe, No air gap causing siphoning, Build-up of sludge in drain hose, Clogged household drain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Wear gloves when handling drain hoses. Avoid inhaling strong sewer gases.
- 1. Adjust drain hose position: Ensure the drain hose is not pushed more than 10–15 cm into the standpipe and that there is an air gap.
- 2. Clean drain hose: Remove the hose and flush it with hot water to clear sludge.
- 3. Clean pump filter: Remove and clean the drain pump filter to eliminate trapped debris.
- 4. Check household drain: If odor persists, the standpipe or household drain may need cleaning by a plumber.
