Possible Causes
Child lock (control lock) enabled, Faulty Start/Pause button on control panel, Defective user interface PCB, Communication issue between UI and main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer before removing the control panel.
- 1. Check for child lock: Look for a key or lock symbol on the display. Disable child lock by holding the designated button combination (refer to Casarte manual, often holding two buttons for several seconds).
- 2. Reset control: Unplug the washer for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try again.
- 3. Test other buttons: If only the Start button is unresponsive while others work, the user interface PCB or button contact may be faulty.
- 4. Inspect UI connections (advanced): Remove the control panel and check the ribbon cable between the UI board and main PCB. Reseat connectors.
- 5. Replace UI board if needed: If the Start button circuit is defective, replace the user interface board with a compatible Casarte part.
