Possible Causes

Clogged drain pump filter, Blocked drain hose, Foreign object in drain pump impeller, Failed drain pump motor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer. Water may spill; keep towels and a shallow tray ready.

  • Access the pump filter: On most Hisense front-loaders, open the small service flap at the bottom front. Place a tray under the filter cap.
  • Clean the filter: Slowly unscrew the filter cap to let water drain gradually. Remove the filter and clear lint, coins, buttons, or debris. Check inside the pump cavity for obstructions.
  • Inspect the drain hose: Pull the washer slightly forward. Check the rear drain hose for kinks or crushing. Detach from the standpipe or sink and flush with water to ensure it’s clear.
  • Check pump operation: With the filter removed, gently spin the pump impeller with your finger; it should turn freely. If jammed or very loose, the pump may be damaged.
  • Test cycle: Refit the filter securely, reconnect the hose, plug in the washer, and run a drain/spin program. If E2 returns and you hear no pump noise, the drain pump motor likely needs replacement.
