Possible Causes
Shorted motor windings, Shorted triac or IGBT on control board, Damaged motor harness, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer. High voltages are present on the control board; only trained persons should test live circuits.
- Check motor for shorts: Disconnect the motor connector and measure resistance between windings and to ground. Any short to chassis indicates a bad motor.
- Inspect harness: Look for melted insulation or burn marks along the motor wiring.
- Visual PCB inspection: Remove the control board cover and look for burnt components near the motor drive section.
- Corrective action: Replace the motor if windings are shorted. If the motor is good but E51 persists, the control board/inverter must be replaced by a professional.
